Adam wasn't there when Cece interviewed Abigail. It was easy to just accept Cece's word of their new resident and move on, but this particular person he might have advised against. The downside to not being her only adviser.

Not that he knows he's being followed.

He's grown less paranoid about being alone in the Vale, no longer constantly looking over his shoulder or scrying until he couldn't breathe. The young man he's talking to bids him a farewell and now? Now he's alone. He shifts the satchel on his shoulder, adjusting the weight before he starts on his way toward the library. There's a book he needed to return, and a book he wanted to read.

Adam's relaxed, and doesn't look as fanatical as he used to be.
