Laurie's tired, too. She has to stop herself from rolling her eyes at that. It's not a bad stance to take on sacrifice, part and parcel to Complex Human Emotion and a lifetime of survivor's guilt. She's just not sure what remaining reassurance she can offer, whether it's possible to alleviate the situation or buy some peace for the rides home, at least.
