While Liebing could not stop Wen Qionglin and Baxia combined, this is a very different situation. Xichen doesn't take the xiao out until he knows what the reason for the rampage is - but there does not seem to be external resentment, and the dizi stained in blood is answer enough.

So Xichen does not try to contain, or stop, though the music does sometimes shift people away from Wen Qionglin's immediate reach.
