[Jane may not have been informed because, simply, most animals can tell what she is - they have that sort of gut feeling, the instinct that alerts them to things beyond the eyes of most humans. They can tell she's not a threat in any regard, far from it, and a little bribery never hurt... Ammy still has one or two feed bags of delicious toasted seeds and nuts she has been sharing with those that are partial to them.
