[Jane has never seen a wolf on the island before, and it instantly draws her attention away from the little anemones and urchins in the pools.]
Hello...
[Ah, and she isn't sure. Even less sure that none of her little friends happened to tell her that there was a wolf here. It might have escaped their notice. Just another animal, after all.
She steps to the edge of the rocky pools and down onto the sand, and crouches with her hand outstretched. This is probably a dangerous thing to be doing, but even the wildest of animals are often taken aback by her ability to understand and speak to them.]
[Jane may not have been informed because, simply, most animals can tell what she is - they have that sort of gut feeling, the instinct that alerts them to things beyond the eyes of most humans. They can tell she's not a threat in any regard, far from it, and a little bribery never hurt... Ammy still has one or two feed bags of delicious toasted seeds and nuts she has been sharing with those that are partial to them.
Approaching to sniff and rub her head affectionately into the woman's outstretched hand, Ammy gives her palm a gently nudge with her wet nose, licking over Jane's fingers. It's almost as if she were tame, or at least very used to people, though even the woman's powers won't get much of a rouse out of the white wolf, other than a tilt of her head and a twitch of her tail as a sly smile curls up on her lips. My, now...that's--]
Curious...
[The voice seems distant, fuzzy, spoken through a screen, or as if it were but a breath on the wind. The goddess isn't easy to understand, even for those that can speak with animals, or read thoughts. Not unless they really get to know her, anyway, like a friend. She might open up more, but it all comes down to the other party... Ammy's not usually talkative, but she's very expressive.]
[It doesn't surprise her that the wolf talks back, but what does is the fuzziness around the word. It's more like an impression than communication of the sort she usually gets, and... she could swear that the animal was smirking at her.]
Curious?
[She takes the licks against her hand as an indication of friendliness and runs her fingers gently down the wolf's muzzle, up the side of her head to scratch gently behind one soft ear.]
[She doesn't respond this time around, though the twinkle in her eye remains. As a matter of fact, it may even seem to grow, and Ammy moves to nudge and brush her nose and head against Jane's palm, all too eager to accept the love she has to give. Her tail begins to wag a bit faster, tongue beginning to peek from her jaws as she begins to pant, looking back down into the little pool again.
She paws at the sand and water, stirring the liquid inside, and causing a small crab to scurry under under a rock for shelter, half burying itself in the sand as well. Oops...didn't mean to startle the poor thing.]
[Jane almost (almost sits back in the sand before remembering it's wet, and manages to manoeuvre herself so her backside hits the edge of the rocks instead.
(And with a slight wince as the impact jars up her tailbone).]
Hey, now. Behave yourself. Don't terrorise the locals.
[If she weren't playing in the water, Ammy would have been able to make something a bit more comfortable for Jane to sit on - a bed of soft moss, for example - but alas...this train of thought only goes one way. Though she does jerk her head up and retract her paw with a very solid--]
Oops.
[It was an accident, but at least now she realizes what it was Jane was looking at. She's been underwater before, in the temple of the Water Dragon and all the Dragonian people, but she never got a chance to really explore the place, given how much was happening at the time.]
[Jane has to laugh. As wary as she was - and still is, to an extent - this wolf does not appear to be any kind of danger to her or to the island. Though she can't be sure, she usually trusts her instincts with animals.]
I don't think I've ever seen a wolf near the ocean.
[She muses this out loud, resting her chin on her hand.]
[Oh, this is a much easier question to answer, and one that requires little effort and even less words. Shaking her head no, the wolf looks off into the distance, back where she first arrived via the Gate. She was merely exploring, or trying to, since there are restrictions and limitations to how far she can go beyond the range of a Gate, but this island was nice. Peaceful... She may stay a while, before going on her way again. She still has things to see, new people to meet, and perhaps get a few questions answered. Like if anyone's seen anyone Ammy knows.
...Actually.]
Searching... [She places her paw on the damp sand and guides one of her claws through the moist pebbles, drawing a picture nearly perfectly, despite the, uh...limitations of her body, and the coarse medium she's using.] Friend.
[She echoes the word. This wolf doesn't communicate in the way that she's used to, and she suspects an intellect far greater than that of any normal animal is the cause of the difficulty she's having.
But she understands the picture. She understands 'friend'.]

What are you doing here, pretty wolf?

You're curious? Or... you find me curious?

You lost someone?
[And she can appreciate art when she sees it.]
Him?
