[Jane almost (almost sits back in the sand before remembering it's wet, and manages to manoeuvre herself so her backside hits the edge of the rocks instead.
(And with a slight wince as the impact jars up her tailbone).]
Hey, now. Behave yourself. Don't terrorise the locals.
[If she weren't playing in the water, Ammy would have been able to make something a bit more comfortable for Jane to sit on - a bed of soft moss, for example - but alas...this train of thought only goes one way. Though she does jerk her head up and retract her paw with a very solid--]
Oops.
[It was an accident, but at least now she realizes what it was Jane was looking at. She's been underwater before, in the temple of the Water Dragon and all the Dragonian people, but she never got a chance to really explore the place, given how much was happening at the time.]
[Jane has to laugh. As wary as she was - and still is, to an extent - this wolf does not appear to be any kind of danger to her or to the island. Though she can't be sure, she usually trusts her instincts with animals.]
I don't think I've ever seen a wolf near the ocean.
[She muses this out loud, resting her chin on her hand.]
[Oh, this is a much easier question to answer, and one that requires little effort and even less words. Shaking her head no, the wolf looks off into the distance, back where she first arrived via the Gate. She was merely exploring, or trying to, since there are restrictions and limitations to how far she can go beyond the range of a Gate, but this island was nice. Peaceful... She may stay a while, before going on her way again. She still has things to see, new people to meet, and perhaps get a few questions answered. Like if anyone's seen anyone Ammy knows.
...Actually.]
Searching... [She places her paw on the damp sand and guides one of her claws through the moist pebbles, drawing a picture nearly perfectly, despite the, uh...limitations of her body, and the coarse medium she's using.] Friend.
[She echoes the word. This wolf doesn't communicate in the way that she's used to, and she suspects an intellect far greater than that of any normal animal is the cause of the difficulty she's having.
But she understands the picture. She understands 'friend'.]

You lost someone?
[And she can appreciate art when she sees it.]
Him?
