[ rimuru doesn't leave footprints, since he is a slime, he basically leaves a trail of sand being disturbed by a ball. Somehow. Look, it's hard to describe what type of trail a slime leaves.
But when he is spotted, part of his body shapes into a small tendrill that waves back at the familiar face, and since rimuru wants to get there faster, he bounces on the sand this time. ] Hi Jane!
[Once upon a time, he would have terrified her. She sometimes looks back on the skittish and constantly alarmed young woman she was back then, and she has to laugh.]
It's very cold! Stay there, I'll come to you.
[And so she does, stepping carefully over the rocks in bare feet then hopping down into the sand beside him.]
I don't mind cold water [ rimuru can't feel cold, the perks of being a slime! ] if it's that cold, should you be there, Jane?
[ rimuru's body relaxes and he seems to form a puddle on the sand when Jane comes closer ] Just keeping an eye out - there are new people around, so I want to make sure they aren't too lost.
[She crouches down beside the gelatinous little puddle in the sand, giving Rimuru a sunny smile. Her toes are turning slightly blue beneath the nails, but Jane herself doesn't appear to be suffering at all.]
I'm checking that everything is alright with the creatures here. They can't speak, but they can give me impressions if something is wrong with the water.
well- rimuru doesn't want to question her, so he won't, but he will keep an eye out for her while they talk, just in case. ]
And? Anything new? [ the animals are great to keep control of the island and its surroundings, aren't they? Rimuru is pretty glad Jane has such a power ]

Jane shakes her head.]
Nothing new. Things are always a little unsettled here, but I've grown used to that...
[The young woman looks up at the sky and takes a deep breath.]
I just wish... [And then she sighs.] Things haven't felt normal for me. Not since Josh-- left.
