Oh, I'm sure you weren't having to watch your waistline as closely. I know I wasn't before I came here.
[Before she came here, she was lucky if the place she was keeping her small band of kids in even had power and gas half the time. They'd managed, but it had been hard work, and no time for silly things like baking.
She watches Allison look over what's on offer, and she knows what the other woman is going to take before she even picks it up.]
I changed the recipe a little - what do you think?
[ There's a laugh for the first part. A sound not all that often heard in the Council Room really, but it's still here and there. Allison has a lighter side, she can't not with Claire and Luther and their little too perfect home life at the end of her days, even if it is the lesser-seen side of her outside of that.
Something more like this. Private, even when given freely.
It takes a moment for her to finish chewing, especially when she slows down that whole part of it, because she's trying to taste the difference, and there is something -- maybe richer? -- about it, but she can't entirely put her finger on it. She's never gone that far and deep into cooking for more than is needed. ]
[Jane winks, and then turns to start running water into the sink to wash up some of the mess she's managed to make so far. She had started in a whirl of inspiration and excitement, and she thinks she may well have used every single bowl in the kitchen.]

[There's a mental note, though, that the change was a well-received one.]
[ Allison's fingers are still a little chocolatey, but she's devouring the brownie fast enough. A nice day for a treat and a long slow bit of quiet, while the beat of the party echoed across the island, low and diffused by the space.
She considered. Then. ] Do you need any help with that?
I can dry? Or help with packaging some of these up?
[She tosses a towel Allison's way in answer, giving a sunny smile as she takes the opportunity to pull down some clean airtight boxes from a nearby cupboard.

It's good. Richer, maybe? More chocolate? Or?
What did you end up changing this time?
