1. Meet one of the Five

[ It might be surprising to some, it might not be as surprising to others: but one of the council members in Krakoa is a slime; a proper slime, like the ones you will find in video games such as Dragon's Quest. He is usually no bigger than a cat, but at times it's almost as if he looks bigger than that; he has no eyes or mouth, but you can hear him speak and you can swear he IS looking at you. His voice is very child-like, but he will talk to you as if he is a lot older than that.

Rimuru is generally happy and cute. He is cheerful and will try to help with anything you need. Very often he is being carried around by children, or even by adults and does not seem to mind such a thing at all (it's a lot easier to be carried around than to trying to keep up through bouncing and rolling!); in fact, he definitively welcomes it.

Despite being a Council member, Rimuru is always nice and kind to everyone and all new arrivals. He prefers to greet them last after the oath (he truly does like Allison, but her "rumor" feels a bit too much like brainwashing for him to agree with it so easily) but is ready for a handshake (slime...shake?) or a hug for whoever wishes to pick him up and do so.

He will warn, however ] Just make sure you don't get into trouble, otherwise I will have to eat you! [ he laughs at that, clearly joking. Right? ] But if you need any help getting around let me know! I don't sleep so you can come talk to me any time.

2. A good cushion, ball, plush, toy - or just a big brother (or maybe a mother?)

[ Rimuru loves children. And maybe that's why Krakoa means so much to him; he never had any children of his own and never thought about having any, but he learned he could be a good teacher and he could be supportive, and his cute form allows him to become sort of like a "pet" to the younger ones. Rimuru is very often found around children - the younger ones sleep on top of him and use him as a pillow, or they simply carry him around like a soft toy they like to hug and squish a lot. It's not unusual to find kids surrounding him or - when he makes his body bigger - sleep on top of him while under a tree.

He is also found playing games with them. Despite being a slime, Rimuru can reshape himself to mimic a human - he can choose any gender and any age, but his preferred shape is of an androgynous teen, therefor newcomers can easily confuse him for just another imPort kid adopted by Krakoa (though he won't mind that). When in this form, he is usually found teaching children how to use their powers or fight moves if they want to learn. And when lessons are done, he will join a game of tag, while running after the kids while screaming ] I will eat you!! [ the kids, instead of showing any fear, laugh with delight, running away and fully expecting to Rimuru to catch them.] Hey hey, no using you super-speed, that's cheating!!

[ during quieter times, specially at night, Rimuru will read to them or tell them stories from the games he used to play back in his world, while making it sound they are totally real and did happen. He will sing lullabies too, and for those younger imPorts who miss their mother, he even reshapes his body to look like an older woman so they sleep better while he sings to them. ]

3. Allies

[ It's a fact: Rimuru doesn't like to leave his island. In fact, when asked to do it, he often prefers to give an excuse to remain behind, and only if truly needed he will do so. There is a big exception to this: friends! And also allies. He will meet those who are not part of his faction if they are people Rimuru trusts and likes, and ill do so readily for he wants to keep connections to the outside world, but also with people who think like him. His objective is to heal this world after all, and he thinks everyone should come together for that!

If he receives an invitation to meet someone, he will readily leave the island for the day - and bring along drawings the kids from the island made so he can show how cute they are. You could say he is like a proud momma!! ]

4. Abilities and training

[ Being a slime is more of a biology thing than an actual power, no matter what the Porter thinks. But Rimuru has a lot more to him than just being a slime; being able to transform into human is a trick one of his other powers provides, but he can turn into a lot more things - from dog to bats, to even bees, Rimuru's "Mimicry" skill allows him to copy shapes of beings he put into his pocket-dimension, and use their biology to his advantage.

In other words, growing wings? Not a big deal to him! And he often uses this to train and become better too. His main weapon is a long-sword but while he trains, Rimuru employs all of his abilities - swinging his sword while he flies, or using a cats agility for a quicker attack. Sadly, he usually trains on his own, which means he never improves that much - trees as opponents will always be very predictable in the end.

Eventually he sits down, sword besides him, while he sighs. His last Power - Raphael - will manifest then: a hologram-like image of Rimuru shows up besides him, wearing nothing but a white robe, while staring at the original Rimuru ] Master, it'd be more efficient if you trained with someone else. [ Rimuru groans ] I know that, Raphael. Did I get any better, at least?

Only 0,000000000001% better than the last time. Playing tag with the children is more efficient.

[ yes, rimuru's last power can actually manifest itself and speak on its own. It's also a bit sassy. Rimuru only groans louder. ]

He's not wrong.

[It's not often that David gets time to wander, especially in the last year. The longer their fifth member was missing from the Council, from all of Krakoa, the more worn and worried David looked. Not that he could be blamed, the Council at the very least knew what Foley had once (and perhaps still) meant to David. Maybe Josh hadn't been the best at handling the power put upon his shoulders, but he'd been what united them.

All that to say that David was rarely away from his office or his work, and an afternoon's leisurely stroll was nearly unheard of these days. Yet here he was, coming up behind Rimuru after the Council member rested, his attention briefly on Raphael. The projection was spared a nod, because David was never going to treat anyone, not even Raphael, as something less than a person.]

You know there are those of us who would be happy to work with you on training if you just asked.

[rimuru]

[ when Rimuru hears a familiar voice, he sort of jumps in place, embarrassed to be found like this. He knows very well training on his own isn't enough and lately he has stagnated; to have another person know that is a bit embarrassing. Raphael, however, sees no embarrassment and with a small nod back at the other, before it retreats back to let the master and his friend speak. ]

Ah... David. [ Rimuru scratches the back of his head ] I'm always a bit worried to go overboard, I guess. Plus I don't want to destroy the place. [ rimuru's skills aren't particularly destructive, but in some ways he can cause a lot of damage if he isn't careful ]

How have you been? [ he has a feeling he knows the answer... in any case, Rimuru reaches for the sword, placing it under his coat which ends up disappearing into his hammer-space ]

[He definitely knows the answer, so David doesn't know if it's reasonable to state the actual answer to Rimuru's question.]

I understand. There's a reason I don't use non-melee weapons with my psychic abilities. I don't want to think about the damage of, say, a psychic shotgun.

[rimuru]

[ he does know, but he still asks because he is polite. Plus, he doesn't mind listening if David wants to rant, Rimuru tries to be a good listener. ]

Right, that sounds like it'd end up with me putting you in time-out. [ sometimes rimuru calls it "baby jail" as well. He stretches a bit, finally getting up and patting his legs as if to get the dirt off him ]

Ah- we have been getting newcomers lately, right? Anyone from your world?

Yeah, and I want to pass on Baby Jail.

[Newcomers. David sighs at the question. Because no. There are never people from home. There's... only ever the isolation of their small group now.]

Not yet. Well, Thor is visiting again. Which once more worries me. One day he might be worthy, and if he can call Mjolnir...

[Then White Tower will see them as more of a threat. David had almost wanted to turn the man away the first time he had stepped through their gate.]

[rimuru]

[ rimuru is suddenly going to turn into his slime form, and David better be ready to catch him because he is absolutely going to take advantage of it and let himself be carried - well, if he doesn't catch rimuru, he will just fall on the floor, which is fine too ]

Thor - the viking God? [ ohhh that sounds juicy ] It'd be nice to keep him on our side. But I don't think White Tower will like to know that we have powerful imPorts like that.

[Of course he's ready to catch. They've been working together for long enough that he's learned some of the things he needs to do to make sure he's working well with his partners. Because that's what they are. They work best as their quintet.]

He's never been good at staying still. Comes and goes. Comes and goes. Usually comes when the meads are going to be ready.

[rimuru]

I can't blame him, even a slime like me enjoys mead. [ it's very delicious!

Rimuru settles in David's hands, as he thinks for a moment ] I think I will go to the Synod this year. [ rimuru rarely leaves his island, but with Josh's disappearance which everyone knows deep down was White Tower's doing, Rimuru feels like he should probably take a stand. ]

[What? David is a bit shocked. It wasn't wrong that Rimuru wanted to go, or that he normally didn't. Frankly it was nice to have one of them home to deal with issues there. But Rimuru choosing it this time...

He nods. Maybe not everyone agreed with David and Allison and Rimuru. But enough did.]

That would be a good choice. If you wish, I can make you something to wear.

[Eddie watches the game of tag with a smile.  It's nice to see kids happy and unafraid, one of the best aspects of Krakoa.  A very nice change from what he remembers of Derry. Plus exercise is important for everyone and this is an easy way for the doctor in him to see that the kids are all doing well.  Once the game ends, he walks over to Rimuru, knowing him well enough to recognize him in any form.]

How is it cheating for any of them to use super-speed power when you're using your power to be human? 

[On the surface, he seems completely serious.  For those that know Eddie, they could see the humor in his eyes and know he's only kidding.]

[rimuru]

[ once the kids give Rimuru and Eddie some space, the slime smiles wide at the other, hands on his hips. he does also bring a finger to his lips to say "shhhhhh" and whisper ] Don't say that too loud, or they will start using that excuse!!

[ and yet, rimuru would probably not mind ] Do you want to play tag too, Eddie?

Excuse?  It's a fact. 

[Eddie does lower his voice to a whisper too.  He chuckles and shakes his head at the idea of playing tag.] 

No,  I'm more of a treadmill guy - but if you still need more exercise, I could convince them to start a game of reverse tag and have all the kids chasing you.

[rimuru]

Ah, no, I think I'm all gamed-out for a while. [ Rimuru laughs, scratching the back of his head ]

How have you been Eddie? Anything interesting of late?

I've been good.  [Eddie answers and rolls his shoulders in a shrug]  Wedding planning.  That might only be interesting to me and Richie.

[rimuru]

Woah, woah- not only for you two guys! [ rimuru crosses his arms, pouting a little although he is just being playful ] I like to know these things, Eddie - after all, I consider you family.

There's not much to know.  We're still just planning. [Eddie chuckles.]I think Richie would be happy saying vows while wearing an ugly shirt and chugging a shot of whiskey. 

[rimuru]

Well, what are YOU happy with? [ they can go big or small - or in between ]

[He hadn't meant to intrude. The sounds of someone striking what he correctly guessed was a sword against a tree draws him closer out of curiosity, and learning that it was Rimuru makes him stay a moment to watch. He hadn't known this particular councilor practiced, let alone in such a manner.

Though he could have slipped back the way he came, unnoticed, he instead purposefully snaps a twig under his foot, announcing his presence, as he steps forward.]

Do you typically train alone?

[rimuru]

[ Rimuru hears a voice, and turns to look at Judd, blinking. His skill - Raphael - does acknowledge Judd by simply glancing at him before it fades away ]

Ah- I am just too worried about destroying things. Or that the kids will see me and try doing the same.

[rebelarrow]

Would you feel more comfortable in an area devoid of objects to destroy?

As for the children, I think it's important for them to see what adults are capable of with their abilities. The other end of it would be to instill upon them the importance of proper discipline and not extending themselves beyond their means.

[rimuru]

I think so! [ he crosses his arms, nodding ] I like this island too much and I don't want to destroy it.

[ but aha, the matter of children... well ] I'm worried that something could go wrong. They are easily impressed and I'd worry if they push themselves too hard or if they try to do things the way I do them.

Specially when I'm not there to help.

I know of a location. It's not claimed by any particular faction.

[Seeing as he doubts either of them want to accidentally start a war in an attempt to let off some steam.]

I... Before I arrived, I lived among Changeling wolves. They typically appeared human, but were also able to transform into wolves. Even in their "human" form, they were stronger, faster, and could semi-shift their hands, feet, and teeth into claws or fangs. They were predators, and you knew it.

But the first thing they ever taught their young is "no claws during play." They're taught early to respect their strength, and are punished when they lose their tempers and lash out. Those that forget or do it by accident are lightly reprimanded and taught again.

And most importantly, the adults show the behavior they expect from their young when they play with the pups. They believe that behavior is learned by watching those that care about and protect them.

[rimuru]

[ rimuru is very... particular about leaving the island. Some would say the slime is just trying to hide away and ignore the outside world, but that's not it. It's just the outside world breaks his heart and so he focus on his people, the ones he can save and keep safe.

but Rimuru listens, before he hums ] I do want them to have the freedom and the ability to learn how to use their powers and strengths, I want them to know their limits and other people's limits.

But it's an issue if they see an adult doing something and they try copying it. Because in the end, they are still impressionable. [ so rather than just show them his powers, rimuru wants the kids to do it the other way around: he watches their powers and works with those powers ]

My powers are a bit more complicated than what they seem. [ Mimicry is easy, but his power Raphael is something else. ]

It's uninhabited forest land, destroyed by a forest fire about a year back. Additionally, the forest fire was an accident caused by a pair of native hikers and completely unrelated to any sort of imPort politics.

[Judd offers, his voice naturally cool, yet he still attempts to be gentle.]

I would argue that is why it's just as important that they see it. Children are smarter than adults tend to give them credit for. They're naturally inquisitive. If you hide something from a child, they're more likely to seek it out. And what if I were a child, and not an adult who caught you just now?

[Judd pauses.]

I don't think I am fully aware of your skillset, Councillor.

[rimuru]

[ he does consider the offer. ] And how to get there? [ ah yes, krakoa has a gate, of course. They also have people with teleportation. But he is curious to what Judd's offer on that regard would be ]

Hm- if you were a child, I'd probably let Raphael explain. [ and speaking of explaining, Rimuru calls forth Raphael. It's like a ghost, a hologram, of Rimuru's own human body which instead wears a a white robe. This skill is also self-ware, which means when its out, her attention turns to Judd as well - and yes, she is female. ]

Raphael is... like a personal computer, in a way. She plays around with probability, analytics of my slime body, she is also the one that lets me know I'm going too far, since my body doesn't feel pain. [ Rimuru is a slime after all, he doesn't feel things the way a human does ] Because you are always reckless, master. [ the skill says, with a bored tone on her voice. Yes, she also likes to call Rimuru out on his crap and of course Rimuru makes a small face] Hey!!

Anyway- she also can bound imPorts to me. And that allows everyone bounded to me to share their powers. In other word - if I bound with you, I'm able to use your powers.
