I've thought of a wonderful present for you... | Closed
WHO: Sephiroth and Rufus
WHERE: Northwestern part of America, in a small town
WHEN: Late in the first week of the month
WHAT: Sephiroth runs into Rufus while out looking for a new place to burn down.Hilarity Violence ensues.
WARNINGS: Violence, blood, potential death, probable cursing.
The novelty of being in a new world had worn off extremely quickly and Sephiroth was disappointed he hadn't found any hint of Cloud being in this world. The failed SOLDIER was his favorite plaything, and he'd quickly grown bored of playing with the humans he'd found here, so he'd decided to explore the continent and to see if he could find the blond.
Currently he was making his way through a small town in the north. Masamune was in hand and he was setting fire to the buildings, smiling as people ran around him. He wasn't concerned about survivors and even preferred them. If Cloud or any of his group was here than perhaps survivors would draw them to him quicker.

The accounts of a silver-haired man who laid waste to towns made his stomach sink. There was no sign of Cloud and his friends- he couldn't even find his Turks- so there was nothing he could do but to find Sephiroth himself. He may not be able to win the fight even with his powers but he wasn't going to run away.
The fires of the town were hot but he presses on, telling any survivors fleeing to get out of town, don't come back. It wasn't difficult to find Sephiroth himself and despite the fear that runs through him, he's not going to run.
"Sephiroth. What are you hoping to accomplish here?"

"Mr. President. How good to see you."
The tone of voice was mocking and Sephiroth turned away from the President in order to watch the flames consume the structures around them.
"I can't hear Mother here, but I know she must out there somewhere. I wish to find her."
no subject
"She's here," he lies easily, his voice firm. He had to buy himself some time, or at least try if Sephiroth would even believe him. "I've been keeping her safe and sound until I can destroy it." It was better that Sephiroth was focused on him alone rather than wreaking havoc on the world in his quest to find that thing. "Is that your plan? Summon Meteor here for her?"

"Do not think I am as naive as my remnants Shinra. I'm quite aware of the fact that you do not carry Jenova and that she's not on this planet."
He gestures with his free hand as he continues, "I know what I must do in order to find her. I have to cleanse this planet of the sickness that has overtaken it."
no subject
"She's abandoned you. Why do you think she's not with you now?" And then Rufus steps forward. It doesn't matter, really. He's not going to outrun Sephiroth at any distance.
"You can summon Meteor, you can cleanse this planet, but that's not going to change that fact that really, after everything, she still doesn't want you. How does it feel to be a disappointment?"
He smirks as he raises his gun but his eyes are cold. If he manages to survive this it won't be pleasant.

"Such blatant attempts at manipulation are beneath you Rufus. Or are you perhaps speaking of yourself?" His tone turned mocking as he stopped just out of Masamune's reach; continuing to taunt even as he attempted to connect with the geostigma wracking the blond's body.
"How does it feel to know Daddy loved monsters more than he loved you?" It's then that the lack of geostigma in Rufus's body becomes clear and shock passes over his face briefly.
"How...?"

He hates any mention of his father but he has to keep his own emotions controlled. "The same could be said of your father. Hojo isn't exactly a shining example of good parenting especially what he did to create you." But they weren't here to discuss their respective daddy issues.
"I don't know. It was most likely her." Aerith. But she wasn't here and if Sephiroth was able to summon Meteor then they were in real trouble. "I'm free of Jenova, there is nothing left in me."

Anger surged through him and Sephiroth allowed it, turning the emotion into a casting of Heartless Angel. He knew it would leave Rufus on the brink of death, which was exactly what he wanted.
The other man wasn't reacting the way Sephiroth wanted or expected, he was much too calm, so he was hoping the sudden drop in health would shake Rufus's disposition.

He's not giving up just yet, struggling to pull himself up. He doesn't have a lot of strength but if Sephiroth gets a little closer he may be able to inflict some damage with the electricity he can generate. "You're not going to win. Even if you defeat me today, I'm just going to come back for you."

"Kneel Mr President and beg for mercy. Perhaps I will grant it."
The blond in front of him wasn't Cloud, but tormenting him was almost as satisfying. He angled Masamune so the blade caught the sunlight and glinted.
"Any final words?"
no subject
"Go to hell, Sephiroth."
He doesn't have his full strength but he can still make this hurt. Instead of running away, he stumbles forward as he raises his hands, his eyes on Sephiroth's. He's not his father, he's not going to beg or cower.
He pulls as much energy as he could into the strike he aims right at Sephiroth's heart, the bolt of electricity flashing a bright red between them as the air crackles.

That wouldn't stop him from beheading the President though.
His lip curled as he regained control of muscles and directed a simple "Impressive" towards the downed man before his sword arm struck out quicker than the eye could follow.
Masamune's blade was sharp enough to cut through flesh and bone without issue and Sephiroth was turning to walk away before Rufus even fell.
