[ She had scoured every note left by her other self - seemingly left in the event of something similar to this happening, unless she had somehow taught her handlers how to reference various points in her life before being ported in - but found that she lacked some very important information on how to act. The brief history of this timeline felt borderline useless in the face of a lack of knowledge on her role in this place, patrols and a few notes on 'friends' aside.

One thing that was useful though was the information to contact her handlers, both her primary handler and a secondary one.

That was how she ended up in her current position, standing in the snow, pretending to be on patrol as she typed in a message. ]

[The notification comes from one of the phones tucked away in a hiding spot in "his" desk, so it takes a moment for Askeladd to retrieve it. He'd found the things, of course, but he's not used to retrieving them.

Ruby. Asking for video? Every time he's encountered her before (by whichever name), she's known how to conduct subterfuge. The request for video strikes him as a sign that she's rattled.]

[ She sends the request and holds the phone in a way that allows the camera to focus on her face, and for her to see the face on the other end - if it's accepted. Once the request is accepted, he would see the face of a 20-something Ruby, more similar to the one he knew back in the world he'd first met her in than the one they'd both just come from. Her hair was red, though mostly hidden by a hood. She was clearly surrounded by snow, some of it even seeming to hide her from above.

Her expression, though mostly flat, held some edges of anxiety. She was, in fact, rattled. ]

[Well, she just keeps changing, doesn't she? Still, he feels confident that he can read her, the unease beneath the professionalism he remembers from the first world they met in.

So. Is that due to something happening on whichever mission she's on, or is she in the same situation he is? (Or, always possible, both?)]

I am unsure of how to put this, sir, but I don't have any clue what I'm doing here. No, no. Your operative, my older self? I. [ There is a deep breath, letting it out soon after, and then she settles. All signs of issue gone from her voice. At least she can still do that a part of her thinks. ] I appear to have been swapped in with your agent, and while I have an idea of what she was doing, I have no idea how to act around the people here. If you have any notes on how I respond to everyone, please allow me to view them, because otherwise I will blow my cover unless I'm swapped back out soon.
