[ this post starts with a lot of panting, gasping, and above all sobs. Kaneki is crying while he runs, and eventually there is a loud thud which comes from Kaneki suddenly pressing his body against a wall while he tries to control his breathing and sobbing somehow. ]

What th- w-why, why-- [ he killed someone, he killed someone.. And he is so angry at all of this, why does everything keep happening so much ] What is wrong with you- WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU?! [ why is everyone crazy, why is everyone trying to murder everyone else?! Why did he have to end up killing someone too?!

The sobs seem to calm down and for a second there is silence, before a whisper comes ] Help me... get me out of here, please- please. Get me out of White Tower-

[ there is a noise in the background and like a scarred rabbit, Kaneki is on the move again, turning off the feed after ]

[ ooc: for some context, MOM!Kaneki fought AU!Kavinsky and went out of control. He believes he killed him, but China and I decided instead of killing, he only injures the man. Kaneki will respond to this believing he just murdered someone though. ]

I'm not- I'm not him! [he can't explain it. He himself does not understand what happened.

[Wait, that sounds a bit more dramatic than she intended.]

[ but it IS dramatic, everything about this world sort of is. kaneki has no complaints as long he is saved right now ]

A-assurance? [ he freezes ] I don't- [ well ] I know somethings about White Tower. I can tell you all that I know. [ should he even say this? He told Rey he wouldn't, and in return she didn't kill him. But at this point, hell to that, and if someone wants to know how she is planning on killing her own husband to take over the High Chancellor positron, Kaneki is willing to share ]

[Jane purses her lips while she thinks. On the one hand, she should probably pull Allison in on this, because two heads are infinitely better than one when it comes to an issue of extraction.]

Are you in some kind of trouble?

[She's making notes while they talk, forming a plan.]

I need all the details before I put someone at risk trying to get to you.

[ so he has to go through all of that again. Nice, nice. ]

... I hurt someone. Really bad, I think I-... [ kaneki absolutely believes he killed him. And it's a good thing this is voice because kaneki is crying again. Small sniffs can be heard through the audio feed, while he tries to regain is breath ] He is the High Chancellor's right hand- I don't know his name.

[The woman makes a soft noise, lightly strangled in the back of her throat.]

Kavinsky?

[Oh, goodness. When she said 'trouble' she didn't mean that level of trouble. She adds another note.]

That's going to complicate matters... [Understatement. Jane pinches the bridge of her nose, then turns her video on. Seeing an actual face always feels more trustworthy, to her.]

But we can discuss it when you get here. I'll send you some coordinates. Get there, and somebody will come for you.

[ kaneki's eyes go wide when he recognizes who this is. And of course she doesn't recognize him - she doesn't know him at all.

He nods softly, avoiding looking directly at the screen, but it's obvious he has been crying and he was in some sort of fight. There is still some blood left on his face, in fact ]

Ah-uhm... there is someone I want to help before I leave though. I- [ gosh, someone just said they'd help him, and now he is making demands about bringing someone else. kaneki feels like shit, but he can't leave that person behind. he cleans his face with the back of his hand, trying to dry his tears ] He has been kept locked away in a cell for a while, I need to get him out.

I can do it myself, but I can't go yet.

[Oh, she knows him.

She knows him, but not in the way he'd probably like her to. The name had passed her by, somehow - Ken Kaneki - because why would that Ken Kaneki be calling out in terrified tears to be rescued from White Tower? The moment she sees him, though, she feels herself mentally recoil.]

[Just for a moment, she forgets herself. She stares at him and then sharply gathers her thoughts together. Just when she was saying this was getting complicated...]

I-- [Oh, god damn her bleeding heart.] There's going to be security when you get here. Do you understand?

[ and of course she only recognizes the version of Kaneki he absolutely wishes no one recognized. He had some hope that he wasn't that well known, but clearly he is wrong (what is this Kaneki so terrible...).

He freezes momentarily at the "you" and nearly whispers "I'm not him" but he has been saying that nonstop since he arrived and so far, no one is listening.

Kaneki nods, blinking away tears that threaten to come out ] I understand. I just- don't want to be here, I will do whatever you want me to do.

[She'd heard him say it and she hasn't forgotten, and it's the only reason that she's still talking to him right now. It would be too easy for this to be some kind of trick, but she doesn't believe that the Kaneki she knows would be able to do something like this so convincingly.]

I... alright. How long do you need?

[Jane bites her lip slightly as she sends him some coordinates.]

I'll have a man called Luther meet you at this location, with your friend, as soon as you can get there.

An hour, I think- maybe less. [ kaneki searches for a map on his communicator, to see where the location of the place he must head to is. He is close enough, he has been running towards it after all ]

I can let you know when we are ready - I promise it won't take long.

Alright.

[She can feel her nerves buzzing. The first thing she's going to do when she's done with this communication is get hold of Luther. Perhaps the first thing should be getting hold of David, but she doesn't want him to... get in the way.

They've all been worried about Josh.]

I'll be waiting. Don't let me down.

[!! Ren kinda feels the same about this entire place but this guy sounds completely broken.]
